How this works
This tool decodes your image and re-encodes it using your browser's own JPG, PNG, and WebP encoders. Lowering quality reduces file size by discarding fine detail a viewer is unlikely to notice. For an exact target size, the tool tries a range of quality levels and keeps the highest one that still fits your limit.
Because everything runs on-device, there is no upload step and no file size limit beyond what your browser's memory can hold.
